Proposed bill would increase penalties for illegal immigrants convicted of a crime

According to the Miami Herald, a bill currently under review by the Florida Legislature would increase the penalties on immigrants illegally in the United States. But the bill also raises the question of the constitutional rights of undocumented immigrants. Even though due process is a constitutional right, recent court decisions make it unclear whether illegal immigrants would have the same rights as citizens.

Trump immigration restrictions may affect European citizens too

CNN reports today that the Trump administration may consider extending immigration visa restrictions to visitors from European countries. In an interview with European newspapers Bild and the Times of London, the president-elect has left open the possibility of applying immigration restrictions to citizens of European countries. This may affect Italian and other nationals applying for business visas to the United States.
